Hi, I’m Marisia — the grower behind Fable to Table.

I grew up on a sunny acre in what was then the small seaside town of Ōrewa, just north of Auckland. I’ve always been drawn to simple, wholesome living — fresh air, good food, long hikes, salty swims, and eating as close to “home” as possible.

Backyard gardening was part of my everyday life, and even in suburbia, our family lived a little like we were in the country. I think the moment that finally convinced my husband to move rural was when the neighbour’s tiny dog kept sneaking over to chase our chickens!

Years ago, I studied to become a Naturopath and Medical Herbalist while my kids were small. I loved diving deep into the science of wellness and how it connects with traditional ways of living and eating. But over time, I became disillusioned with the industry — too many requests for quick fixes and not enough focus on lifestyle as the root of wellness.

That’s when I realised I didn’t just want to talk about health — I wanted to grow it. For me, the real change happens in the soil, in our choices, and in the communities we build around real food. Growing nutrient-dense, seasonal, spray-free food is my way of contributing to that change.

Fable to Table is still unfolding — we’re slowly establishing a small farmstead that we hope will someday welcome guests for workshops, gatherings, and community offerings. For now, you can connect with me online, through the garden, or via our seasonal veggie deliveries (August through April).

Thanks for being part of the story
